Arg.

Every single Hawaiian wedding service I have looked at has the tackiest and ugliest websites, so ugly that I really don't trust them. Google: "Maui Weddings" and see what you come up with.

We're seriously considering finding a planner in SF who does destinations.

Jeff and I really aren't the "package" type, we want to pick everything from the location to the table linens. Two graphic designers can't stay limited to a package deal.

OK so from my research from the past two days, this is what I have decided that I want:

_ the ceremony & reception on a private estate overlooking the ocean
_ chairs set up for the ceremony with a canopy as an "altar" done right before sunset
_ an outdoor reception banquet-style long tables
_ a wooden dance floor with amplified music
_ string lights, tiki torches, and candles, candles, and candles
_ the bridesmaids don't match dresses, the color doesn't even have to match, as long as its within the same hue
_ I am NOT wearing a lei (hmm maybe, still not sure)
_ I want a violinist or acoustic guitar to play "Everlong" right after they say "You may kiss the bride"
_ we expect to pay the most money for the photographer out of any of the other vendors
_ I want cupcakes instead of a conventional cake, if it has to be conventional then I want a topsy-turvy "Alice in Wonderland" cake
_ I want a chocolate fountain with fresh Hawaiian pinapple

I sound crazy, and that is why I am glad we have this wedding blog instead of me writing (three blogs tonight already) wedding plans in my regular blog.

I got dreams yo... I just got dreams...

No sleep, mind is racing...

Fuk-a-duck... Are you kidding me?

Wedding fever has me anxious, nervous, stressed, and excited all at the same time. Can you believe some people have the means to produce as beautiful weddings as this? (Eww look at what the guests are wearing though, wtf)

See, look at the time, I can't even sleep. I'm high off of images of lights, flowers, dresses, happy couples, and beautiful moments.

I can't wait to marry the man, I CAN'T WAIT!!!

Plans

I kind of want to get hitched in Mexico in an old Spanish-style mission. The man and my moms disagree on the whole Mexico idea, the only reason I came up with it is because his cousin is getting married in Oahu exactly one year before us. Its kind of redundant to have two Hawaiian weddings two years in a row within the same family. Ohh well, as much as I'd like to give it more thought, I don't think it would work out to our advantage because planning a wedding out of the country is probably hell.

Anyways, some beautiful weddings that make me think twice about Mexico:Los Cabos One (note the Spanish-style mission), Cabo San Lucas One, Los Cabos Two, Cabo San Lucas Two (I think that last one is fking amazing).

And here is the reason why we will probably keep Maui as our destination: the ultimate goal (almost).

Yadda yadda yadda... We should really organize our thoughts Jeffrox...... we need a wedding binder, ASAP!

SF Living

Kate and I live in the city and it's damn good too. If we want to eat, chill at a cafe, get some drinks, all we have to do is walk about a half block from our place. My commute is 25 minutes on the 38 Express bus. Door-to-door it's about 35 to 40 minutes. That's awesome. Kate and I are easily memorizing the streets. We have time for each other now. It's great to live together again. As much as I miss my family, I love where life is taking us. We have this cozy little apartment in the heart of the Richmond District. We're in the city we sought to live in for almost a decade. We both got design day-jobs. It's awesome. There's so much to explore in this city, yet alone our neighborhood.

Two Twin Beds

I know. I know. They said it would take a year to find a job and in just less than a month, Kate and I were already whining for not having any leads. People said it would take almost half a year to find an apartment in SF and after just three weeks of whining and extreme stress, we found one. The two Noe Valley studios. No go. The plans to room with our good friend Rob. No go. Kate randomly takers her chances and calls this place in the Richmond District to ask what time the open house is. She checks it out. She likes it. We apply. Finally, we got it.

Kate and I will be living in the Richmond District, on 2nd Avenue, between Geary and Anza. It's not a studio. It's a one bedroom.

Kate and I aren't married and we're moving in together. One bedroom. Two twin beds. Hahahaha. Hahahahha. Hahahaha. Does that make us sinners like witches and homosexuals?

Ohh Mom......

Jeff and I got a place in the Richmond district of SF!!! After three weeks of searching I got lucky on Sunday and called a number on craigslist, its in a really great area and the place is definitely ok for the price/location/remodeled features.

Anyways... I was talking to my folks about what needs to be moved and my mom suggested two twin beds. My sister and I thought that was funny, hope you think so too....

I just had to share...

I can't lie....

I want a beautiful wedding, but I want one here.

If only.... I could invite 100 people max and people would just understand that we can't afford to host them. Jeff and I just started our careers and we're thinking about our long-term future. Yeah, people think we can have an affordable wedding here, but Jeff and I will go all out, we can't help it, its in our nature to choose the best based on aesthetics alone. Two graphic designers can't just have their wedding at the local church and then rent out the community center, yeah we're creative people, but no.... thats just not gonna cut it.

I told myself and Jeff that we were gonna start the planning this December, this blog should get more entries soon.

Engaged Couple Fights

My job and some stuff going on with me has me high-strung and stressed out and Kate and I have been taking stabs at each other for the past week. After a few talks, a couple of arguments and a work day to think things through, it's at the point where we just said, hey, let's hug it out, bitch, like Michael Scott and Dwight.

We really haven't fought since being engaged and this is sort of our first since being engaged, having a job and all of that. When I'm in a shitty mood, I can't think rationally. I think I already planned my life living in SF by myself while Kate commutes. But we hugged it out. All is good here.

Good luck to us...

We applied for two different apartments this weekend.

Cross your fingers for us, its hard to land a good place to live on a budget these days.

I'm Taking My Own Pics

Kate thinks it's crazy but I am taking my own pics during the wedding. At the altar, I'm going to sneak in a few snapshots. How hot would that be to capture the perspective of the bride and groom at that place where the bride and groom chill when the priest person talks?

I Got Circumsized

Well. Long time ago. But I did chop off my top. After 2 something years of having long hair for the second time, I chopped it. I just woke up today and decided that today might be the day. Nobody bugged me too. People got used to it and stopped pestering me about my hair. Probably because my nasty locks of hair were hidden beneath a beanie or hat everyday. Anyhow, yes. The hair is short and the future wife never asked me to cut it. Holler at your future husband, yo.

My favorite past-time is receiving headrubs. This is the ultimate weapon that calms me down. I can be stressed as hell and Kate would just rub her fingers between my hair and I'm hit with a spell of insta-calm.

Anyhow. The apartment search in the Richmond District of SF went well. We're applying for an apartment we absolutely love. If they offer it, we're taking it and we're moving in two weeks. I really hope we get this place.

Happy Birthday to the future Pops. Kate's parents are really turning into my second pair of ma and pa. They're awesome.

Forget Luther, Marvin, or Stevie...

Jeffrey Osborne's "Love Ballad" is our old school throwback wedding song. Sure, everyone has "Always & Forever" and "Ribbon in the sky" (which is really a sad song if you listen to it), but I LOVE LOVE LOVE this song so much. I swear my soul is so much older than I am. My music taste is as old as my Pops sometimes.

P.S. Ain't it cute though, the man blogged too.

It's Stupid

Kate and I live separately after living together for 3 years. That's stupid. Saturday is the almost big day. We're apartment-hunting in SF. Care to join? Lunch? Coffee? Shopping? Let's be friends.
